Sweet Homemade Honey Butter Buttermilk
Ready to bake a batch of Honey Butter Cornbread?
A true comfort food meal is never the same without Honey Butter Cornbread – and this is the recipe you need. I have been baking cornbread this way for over 10 years. Our family, friends and lovely readers have praised this simple recipe for just as long! It always brings the food-happy groans to the table.
Ingredients:
1 cup cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup buttermilk
1 egg, beaten
2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
2 tbsp honey
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
Pour the batter into a greased 9×9-inch baking pan.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cornbread is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the cornbread cool for a few minutes, then brush the top with the honey.
Serve warm and enjoy!
