Loaded Cabbage Recipe:
Ingredients
1 head of cabbage
1/2 pound of shrimp, peeled & deveined
6 oz of Hillshire Farm smoked
andouille sausage, sliced
1 small yellow onion, sliced thin
6 strips of bacon, pork
2 tbsp of bacon grease (or butter)
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp Slap Ya Mama Cajun Seasoning
1 tsp Old Bay Seasoning
½ tsp pepper, ground
Instructions
Slice cabbage into four equal parts. Remove the hard white stem in the middle of the cabbage and throw it away.
Then slice each quarter of cabbage into 1 inch wide strips.
In a large pot on medium heat, cook diced bacon until golden brown. Then add sliced onions and sliced sausage to the same pan. Let it cook for about 3 minutes.
Next, add the cabbage. Let cabbage cook down for about 5-7 minutes. If you are adding shrimp, add them now. Add seasonings and mix thoroughly.
Cover and reduce heat to low heat. Simmer for about 15 minutes, while occasionally stirring until cabbage is tender.
